Official blazon
- (personal half) Azure a Celtic cross or on a chief dancetty argent a crescent sable.
Origin/meaning
As common in Australian episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the (arch)bishop.
These are the arms of a Bathersby family and used here to symbolise the last name of the bishop. The Celtic cross has been added in allusion to the motto Lex Crucis which translates to The law of the Cross.
The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of (arch)bishop.
