TORSKEN
Province : Troms of Finnmark (until 2020 Troms
Incorporated into : 2020 Senja
Norwegian |
I svart et gull ankerkors. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 23, 1990.
The arms show an anchor cross as a symbol for both Christianity and the importance of the local harbour. The economy of Torsken is largely dependent on its harbour and an anchor would be an appropriate symbol.
