ØYER

Province : Innlandet (until 2020 Oppland)

Arms of Øyer
Official blazon
Norwegian

I grønt ei sølv helder.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted April 29, 1983.

The arms show a typical wooden ring, or helder, made of tree and used to fasten a tree trunk to haul it over the land. Similar devices were used all over Norway, but this shape is typical for the area.
