ABSAM
State : Tirol
District : Innsbruck-Land
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 20, 1965.
The violin is a symbol for the famous violin builder Jakon Stainer (died 1683) who was born and lived in Absam. The free quarter with the image of St.Mary symbolises the divine appearance in 1797, making Absam a place of pilgimage.
