Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The town also uses the motto : Fiat pax et abuntantia in turribus tuis (from Psalm 121).

The historical arms and seals of the city all showed a simple tower. In 1514 the arms were augmented with the chief by Anne de Bourbon. The arms show the three fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon family, with small red bends indicating an illegitimate branch of the family.

Literature: Chaix, 1996
