MONFORTE DE LEMOS
Region : Galicia
Province : Lugo
Spanish | *(gl) De prata un monte de ouro, sumado dunha torre do mesmo, acompañado no centro do xefe dunha tau de gules e de seis roeis de azur nos flancos. Ó timbre, a coroa real pechada. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The tau in the arms represents the Mark of Cain (the Tuv-alca-in of the Masons) and is inscribed on numerous edifices of the De Lemos that remain, such as the templar castle nearby. The mark also represents Mount Kailas, from which area the Spanish people marched as recorded indirectly by Sallust under Hercules, or herach Lemawus, the De Lemos ceremonial or peace king. |- |English | blazon wanted |}
