Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 28, 1956.
The tower refers to the medieval fortress in the municipality and is a canting element (-borg means fortress/castle). The hammer is taken from the seal of Hammarkinds härad, to which the area historically belonged. The base and the fish are taken from the seal of the Stegeborg archipelago court from 1640.
