ITALIAN LIBYA
Origin/meaning
Italian Libya (Italian: Libia Italiana; Arabic: ليبيا الإيطالية) was a unified colony of Italian North Africa established in 1934 in what represents present-day Libya. Italian Libya was formed from the colonies of Italian Cyrenaica and Italian Tripolitania which were taken by Italy from the Ottoman Empire in 1912.
The arms are a combination of the arms of the two former colonies, with the National Symbol of the time in a chief.
