WIESEN

Canton : Graubünden
Incorporated into : 2009 Davos

Wappen von Wiesen (Davos)/Arms (crest) of Wiesen (Davos)

Official blazon

  • (de) In Gold pfahlgestellt zwei sich zugewendete blaue Wolfsangeln.

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on the arms of the Beeli von Belfort family, former lords of the village. The arms are also shown in the local church, where a small shield with the arms from Nikolaus Beeli can be seen, dating from the late 15th century.

The colours are those of the 'Zehngerichtenbund' one of the three constituent territories of the Graubünden canton.
