ULRICH BOOM

Born : September 25, 1947
Deceased :

Auxiliary Bishop of Würzburg, 2008-present

Arms (crest) of Ulrich Boom

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are divided by a black cross for Christianity. The first quarter shows a heart, symbol of the Jesus Caritas movement, of which the bishop is a follower. The second quarter shows the arms of the city of Münster, where he was born. The third quarter shows the arms of the diocese of Würzburg. The scallop in the fourth quarter is the symbol of St. James and of pilgrims. As a bishop he would be a guide and help people on their (spiritual) journeys.
