ZETTLING

State : Steiermark
District : Graz-Umgebung
Incorporated into : 2015 Unterpremstätten-Zettling

Coat of arms (crest) of Zettling
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 24, 1996.

The name of the municipality, Zettling, derives from "Zeidler", bee-keeper. This term is somewhat archaic, nowadays. Hence the three bees in the arms. Today, in the region of Zettling, market-gardeners grow vegetables of all sorts for the markets in Graz, the capital of the State of Styria, which is symbolised by the cabbage flowers.
