Origin/meaning
The arms were officially registered in 1986.
The deer antlers are a canting symbol, Djursland, the region where the municipality is situated, means deer's-land. The reed symbolises the many waters (lakes, rivers, marshes) in the municipality. By placing the reeds between the antlers, the arms became canting (Midt means middle).
