STASZÓW

Province: Świętokrzyskie
County: Staszów

Coat of arms (crest) of Staszów
Official blazon
Polish blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are taken from the arms of Hieronim Łaski, the owner of Staszów, who on April 11, 1525, obtained city rights for the town. The arms are those from the Korab family clan, to which the Łaski family belonged.

Around 1970 totally different arms were shown. The meaning thereof I do not know.

Currently the city uses the arms with a silver column, but the city ordinance describes the arms as the Korab arms, i.e. with a golden column.
