County (Län): Blekinge län
Additions : 1967 Asarum (1952 Ringamåla), Hällaryd (1952 Åryd), Mörrum (1952 Elleholm).
Official blazon
Sköld av vågskura delad i guld, vari ett uppstigande svart lejon med röd beväring, vilket med båda framtassarna håller ett stolpvis ställt svart ankare, samt i grönt.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on Februari 28, 1666 and reconfirmed on November 1, 1974.
Karlshamn was built by and named after King Karl X Gustaf, as a harbour (hamn) town. The arms show the Swedish lion in rather unusual colours, over the sea. The importance of the town as a harbour is symbolised by the anchor.
