Origin/meaning
The arms were registered on November 13, 2002.
The arms are a combination of the arms of Silezia (first quarter), Moravia (second quarter), the arms of the city of Ostrava, the capital (third quarter) and the fourth quarter is a combination of the arms of the principality of Opava (pales) and the principality of Těšín (eagle).
