Origin/meaning
These arms have not officially been granted and are based on an image proposed between 1895 and 1900. The original proposal showed the same elements in natural colours on a field of green. As these colours were not heraldically correct, the colours were changed to the colours of Asturias.
The upper part of the arms shows the cross of Asturias, indicating that the municipality is in Asturias.
The two goats beneath the tree are canting (Cabra=goat). The meaning of the tree and the bear is not known.
