Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on December 28, 2012.
The arms show a Maltese Cross, for the former commandery of the Order of St. John in Łagów, to which the area historically belonged. The green field refers to the forests and agriculture, the silver wavy bar is base refers to the Oder river.
The previous arms were designed in 1991 and show the same symbolism, shown in a less heraldic way, and also included the Polish eagle.
