42ND FORCE SUPPORT SQUADRON (FORMERLY 42ND MISSION SUPPORT SQUADRON), US AIR FORCE
History: Constituted as Air Base Squadron, 41 Air Base Group on 20 Nov 1940. Activated on 15 Jan 1941. Redesignated as: 42 Air Base Squadron on 17 Jan 1941; 42 Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron on 13 Jun 1942. Disbanded on 1 May 1944. Reconstituted, and redesignated 42 Mission Support Squadron, on 7 Mar 1989. Activated on 1 May 1989. Inactivated on 30 Sep 1994. Activated on 1 Oct 1994. Redesignated as 42 Force Support Squadron on 1 Jul 2009.
