479TH OPERATIONS SUPPORT SQUADRON, US AIR FORCE
History: Constituted as 479 School Squadron, and activated, on 1 Aug 1941. Redesignated as: 479 School Squadron (Special) on 29 Dec 1941; 479 Flexible Gunnery Training Squadron on 15 Oct 1942. Disbanded on 30 Apr 1944. Reconstituted, and redesignated as 479 Training Support Squadron on 13 Jun 2001. Activated on 9 Jul 2001. Redesignated as 479 Operations Support Squadron on 15 Jul 2003. Inactivated on 30 Sep 2007. Activated on 2 Oct 2009.
