Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 3, 1947. The Axe symbolises the Forestry and the Spade symbolises Agriculture. The Wave indicates the rich occurance of Lakes and Other Waters. The Fish is from the Seal of Bruträsk Parish.
The Burträsk municipal society (municipalsamhälle, a council for a larger village within a rural municipality) also had its own arms:
These arms were granted on February 14, 1947. The Fess whit Stars are taken from the arms of the County Governor G.E. Edelstam, which founded the Estate Edelvik within the Muncipal Society.
The Beaver indicates the Bur part of the Name. The Fish is from the Seal of the Burträsk Juridical Circuit.
