MOLĖTAI
County : Utena
Lithuanian | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 27, 1997.
Moletai was mentioned as a town in the 16th century, but never had it's own coat of arms until 1970. The arms show a key in the chief, as Moletai has once been a key administrative unit. The beauty of the countryside and the many lakes are symbolised by the three terns or gulls.
The arms were abolished in late 1970 and restored in 1997.
