Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on April 10, 2024.
The arms are largely composed of elements of the arms of the former rulers in the area.
Marie-Thérèse de Choiseul (1766-1794), daughter of Jacques Philippe Comte de Stainville (1727-1789) was the last Lord of Moulainville-le-haut. The three lozenges are taken from the arms of her husband, Prince Joseph de Grimaldi of Monaco ( 1763-1816), see also Monaco and the cross is the arms of the Stainville family.
The other part ofthe municipality was the estate of Moulainville-le-bas and was a possession of the diocese of Verdun. The two nails of the Passion represent this.
The fortified enclosure represents the fort built in 1875-1877 as part of the second belt of fortresses of Verdun, on the right bank of the Meuse.
