V modrej hlave tri zlaté ľalie, v ľavej polovici sedem ráz strieborno-červeno deleného stredného poľa ľavá polovica strieborného, strácajúceho sa obráteného zlatokorunovaného orla so zlatým, ďatelinkovo zakončeným perizoneom a v zlatej zbroji. V modrej päte štítu šikmá sedemkrát zlato-červeno štiepená niť, sprevádzaná hore jednou a dolu dvoma zlatými ľaliami. |

Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1369 and Košice is the city with the oldest still existing document of granting of arms in Slovakia (and probably Europe).
The original arms only showed the eagle and the bars, all later symbols are later additions. The arms as they are in use at present, date from 1502 and haven't changed since.
The following boroughs/villages in the municipality use arms: Barca (Košice), Dargovských Hrdinov, Džungľa, Juh, Kavečany, Košická Nová Ves, Lorinčík, Luník IX, Myslava, Nad Jazerom, Sídlisko Ťahanovce, Staré Mesto, Šaca, Ťahanovce, Vyšné Opátske
