ASKAINEN

Region: Varsinais-Suomi
Former province: Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Turku and Pori)
Incorporated into: 2009 Masku

Askainen Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Punaisessa kentässä ristikkäin kaksi hopeista marsalkansauvaa, joiden päätehelat kultaa; sauvojen saatteena neljä kulta-apilaa

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 27, 1967

The arms show a marshal's staff, as the famous Marshal Mannerheim was born in the village. The clovers symbolise the agricultural character of the municipality.

After the merger in 2009, the arms are used by the new Masku municipality.Literature:
