English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 17, 1992.

The arms show a golden huldra on a red background. A huldra is a female figure and part of old Scandinavian folklore. This was chosen to represent the large forested areas in Lardal that were said to be inhabited by huldra.
