Shoulder Sleeve Insignia:On an Army green background a block numeral “2,” 2¼ inches (5.72 cm) in height, 1¾ inches (4.45 cm) in width, all members 7/16 inch (1.11 cm) wide, the middle and upper strokes red, the lower portion white.
Distinctive Unit Insignia:A gold color metal and enamel device 1⅛ inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a fleur-de-lis divided horizontally red above and white below bearing a gold Lorraine cross and resting upon a gold scroll inscribed with the words “TOUT PRÉPARÉ” in black.
Origin/meaning
The SSI shows the Number 2 in the Red and White Colours used by Armies. It was approved May 27, 1922 and the Army Green Background was added March 27, 1959.
