Ebensee
State : Oberösterreich
District : Gmunden
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 25, 1929, but have been used by the town since 1919.
The pine tree symbolises the many forests in the area. The small mountain and the water symbolise the Traunsee lake and the Traunstein mountain. The upper part shows salt baskets and a hammer as symbols for the salt mining in the area, which has been practised for several centuries. The bar with the two hands symbolises the solidarity and friendship of the local labourers.
