Wappen von Niederurnen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on July 18, 1938.

The the three stars in a black bend are the arms of the Knights of Uranen ('Urnen') as amready mentioned in a roll of arms from 1532 (see also Oberurnen). The wall anchor is taken from a later roll of arms and was shown next to the arms of the Uranen family. The exact meaning is not known.
