PERSTORP

Province (Landskap): Skåne
County (Län): Skåne län (until 1997 Kristianstads län)
Additions : 1952 Oderljunga

Perstorp.jpg

Official blazon

I blått fält tre bokfruktskålar av guld, ordnade två och en, och däröver en ginstam av guld, belagd med en blå karp med röd beväring.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1948 and confirmed in 1974.

The beechnuts are a symbol for the many beech forests in the municipality, but are at the same time a symbol for the local industry, which depends on the wood from the forests. The chief shows a carp, a species that is quite abundant in the area and which was of great economic importance in previous centuries.
