INHAMBANE
Province : Inhambane
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms show a large ship, symbolising the Portuguese discoverer Vasco da Gama. Vasco da Gama arrived at Inhambane in 1498. He was welcomed by the local people and he gave it the name of "Land of Good People" (Terra da Boa Gente), which is shown on the motto.
