DESTROYER USS MADDOX (DD-731)

History: Commissioned 2 June 1944 and Decommissioned in 1972. Served in the Pacific in World War II, survived a Kamikaze Attack and went on to Serve in the Korean War. Was involved in the Skirmish with North Vietnamese Torpedo Boats the So Called Tonkin Gulf Incident in 1964. Which led to increased US Involvement in Vietnam.
