Crest : On a Wreath Or and Azure a Pick and Spade in saltire Sable hafts downward and tied with a Ribbon Or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted to the Seaham urban district council on September 28, 1951 and continued by the Easington District Council.

The arms show symbols for agriculture (garb), mining (lamp and crest) and shipping, the main activities in the area.
