Municipality : Kaišiadorys

Arms (crest) of Rumšiškės

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 12, 1791, abolished in 1792, regranted in 1968, banned in 1970, regranted on September 14, 1998.

The arms are based on the arms of the princely Sapiega family, and it reflects most likely the citizens' respect to Kazimieras Nestoras Sapiega, the leader of Lithuanian deputies in the federal Four Years Parliament and the then most popular politician in Lithuania.
