PÄLKÄNE
Region : Pirkanmaa
Former province : 1997-2009 Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Häme)
Additions : 2007 Luopioinen
Official blazon
- (1956) Punaisessa kentässä alaisesta kärjestä nouseva kirkonkukko pidellen kynsissään keppiä; kaikki hopeaa.
- (2007) Sinisessä kentässä hopeinen, kultaemiöinen lumpeenkukka.
Origin/meaning
The municipality continued in 2007 the use of the former arms of Luopioinen.
The previous arms were granted on May 3, 1956.
The rooster refers to the (now ruined) medieval stone church in the village. The rooster holds a stylus, as in 1719 the 'ABC' book was published, a pedagogical book printed in Pälkäne.
