Origin/meaning
Yellow and Green are the the colours traditionally associated with Military Police Units. The Pistols adopted from the Military Police Branch insignia indicates the Battalion's lawenforcement role. The axe denotes battle, the rifle and powder horn suggests combat readiness. The black chief symbolises the Coal found in the Mountains of West Virginia. The Coat of Arms was approved on 23 April 2009.
