SECOND BHAWALPUR LIGHT INFANTRY, BHAWALPUR

History: raised in 1827. In 1919 reorganised as Bhawalpur Imperial Service Double Company. Renamed in 1921 as Second Bhawalpur House Infantry. In 1940 recieved its last Name. Served in the First and Second Afghan Wars, the Multan Campaign and helped the British Troops to quell the Indian Mutiny of 1857.
