Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 13, 1961,

The 2 crossed axes are a symbol of jurisdiction. During the Middle Ages, Anela was the center of the curatoria (sardinian term for county). The ears of wheat indicate that the valley was and is very fertile for wheat crops.

The base shows three mountains as Anela is a mountaineous territory where the mountains have always been very important for the economy.
