Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on December 9, 1955. Berga received city rights in 1279 but never developed into a proper city. The division line refers to the city rights. The ibex (stenbock) refers to the Stenbock family, which played a major role in the local history in the 16th century. The thre elightning bolts refer to the power stations in Bro, Åby and Åbyfors.
