RAF STATION MOUNTBATTEN, ROYAL AIR FORCE

History: Opened in March 1917 as Cattewater and renamed as Mountbatten in October 1929.

On a grey rock charged with an anchor Or a grey round tower.
Motto: In honour bound.

Origin/meaning

The Anchor is in remembrance of the Royla Naval Air Service that used the Base during World War One. the Tower is a local landmark. Ther Badge was granted in February 1942.
