Born : November 7, 1971
Deceased :
Coadjutor Bishop of Srijem, 2021-present
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
In the upper, blue field of the shield (symbol of the Kingdom of heaven and peace), there is a golden monogram of Christ (Χριστος - Christ). The color gold is a symbol of preciousness, and the greatest treasure a bishop can give to the world in his pastoral work is the person of Jesus Christ.
Love is a "bond of perfection" (Col. 3: 14b), which is symbolised on the coat of arms by a central silver field, which signifies the purity and strength of love, which, like the bridge to which it points, connects people, enabling them to meet, recognize, share, brotherhood. God's creatures. At the center we find again Christ, the "cornerstone," in which "all the building is joined together and grows into the holy temple in the Lord".
The star is a symbol of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The star also refers to Joseph and in whose year the bishop was appointed and consecrated. Also, the star refers to the bishop's native Slavonia, where he was ordained and acted as a presbyter. The three silver wavy threads are a symbol of the three rivers of the Diocese of Srijem: the Bosut, the Danube and the Sava.
Since the bishop was included in the episcopal corps at the time of Pope Francis 'pontificate and to bear witness to his communion with him and the Apostolic See, the episcopal motto " Super omnia caritas " - "Above all love" is written on a ribbon equal to the one on Pope Francis' coat of arms.
