Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 18, 1987.

The flaming sword is the attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint. The mitre, cross and staff in the 2nd partition refer to the fact that the village belonged to the barony of Cabacés, a property of the bishop of Tortosa.
