Escudo de ouro, torre quadrada de vermelho, aberta e frestada de azul e lavrada de negro; em chefe, espiga de milho vermelho, folhada de verde, entre dois cachos de uvas de púrpura, folhados de verde; pé ondado de azul e prata de quatro tiras. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco, com a legenda a negro : “ VILAR DE TORNO E ALENTÉM “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 12, 2000.

The arms show a tower, which is the ruin of a former Moorish castle and a landmark in the village. The chief shows the main local crops, corn and a bunch of grapes. The base shows the Sousa river.
