Origin/meaning
These arms have been officially granted on 30th April 1999.
Compound arms:the first partition shows the canting arms of Riells (name derived from Latin RIVULOS, "little rivers, creeks"). The second partition shows the arms of Viabrea:a river (the Riera de Sant Llop) behind a bush of heather, which has been traditionally the main economic resource of the village. The brooms that Barcelona council used for sweeping its streets were made with Viabrea's heather.
