Region : Uusimaa
Former province : 1997-2009 Etelä-Suomi, until 1997 Uusimaa
Official blazon
Sinisessä kilvessä istuva, etukäpälissään mustaa kuusenkäpyä pitelevä kultainen, punavaruksinen orava, sen yläpuolella saatteena kolme kultaista ruusua vieretysten.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 11, 1952.
The arms show a squirrel holding a black pine cone. The cone is a canting element for the Swedish name of the town (Grankotte for Grankulla). The squirrel is a common animal in the area. The roses in chief refer to the large gardens of the villas and large houses in the municipality.
