Escudo de Argentona

Official blazon

Escut caironat truncat: 1r. d'argent, una palma de sinople posada en pal; i al 2n. d'or, 4 pals de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 25, 1992.

The palm is the emblem of the martyr saint Julian, to whom is dedicated the local church. The town was under royal jurisdiction, and because of that it shows the royal sign of Aragon (red pales on gold).
