CASTELLFOLLIT DE LA ROCA
Region : Catalonia
Province : Girona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: de gules, una roca de sable movent de la punta somada d'un castell obert d'or. Per timbre una corona de baró.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 23, 1987.
Castellfollit de la Roca is a little town placed on an impressing basaltic rock. This is what the canting arms show: a "castell" (Catalan for "castle") on a "roc" (a chess-rook, that in Catalan arms stands normally for a rock). Castellfollit was an ancient feudal barony, and this is shown by the baron crown on top of the arms.
