Origin/meaning

The silver church (Kirche) is a canting element. The acorns are taken from the arms of the Longeville abbey in Saint Avold, to which the church belonged. The alerion is the symbol of Lorraine, as the village was part of the Boulay estate, owned by the Dukes of Lorraine.
