Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1971.

The arms are based on the previous arms, with a golden bordure for the surrounding municipalities that merged in 1971.

The previous arms were granted on April 26, 1963.

Tingsryd kommunvapen

The star and bezants are taken from a seal from the Stenfors iron factory in the municipality, dating from the 17th century.
