Origin/meaning

The cross recalls the name of the family of Monsignor Lacroix (meaning 'the cross'); it is in gold, the most noble metal, symbol of the first theological virtue, faith. This cross without corpus represents the feast of the Gospel: Christ died for us, but God raised him up.

The blue color is the symbol of heaven, where the "habitable city", the eternal life, awaits us.

The open book represents the Word of God, Good News of God for all humanity, while the flame represents the Holy Spirit, chief agent of evangelization. This flame also reminds us of the words of the pilgrims of Emmaus: "Did not our burning burn in us while we were perfect on the way and opened the Scriptures? (24, 32).

The monogram XP (Chi-Rho) appears on the logo of the institute Seculier Pie X, institute of consecrated life to which Monsignor belongs. This monogram of Christ also reminds us of the first point of the spiritual identity of this Institute: a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, Savior and Apostle.

The sandal recalls the mission of the pilgrim who travels the world with joy to announce the Good News of the Gospel; and she wishes to recall here the nine years spent by Monseigneur Lacroix in Colombia, South America. This sandal also recalls the task shared by the bishop with the people of God, because we are all sent to the mission.

The hook on the water is an obvious symbol of the function of the "sinner of men" which characterizes the life of every disciple of Christ. The water is reminiscent of the Chaudiere River that flows through Beauce, the home region of Monseigneur Lacroix. The hook, not the net, represents the personal dimension of evangelization, personal contact and attention to each person encountered.

The five precious stones on the processional cross represent the five wounds of Christ, through which we are healed and saved. "It's thanks to his wounds that we We are healed "(Is 53,5).
