RÅNEÅ
Province (Landskap): Norrbotten
County (Län): Norrbottens län
Incorporated into : 1969 Luleå
Official blazon
Kluven av rött, vari en stolpvis ställd nyckel av guld, och guld, vari ett utböjt kors över en kvarnsten, båda röda.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 30, 1944.
The key is taken from the seal of the Nederluleå parish, to which the village historically belonged. The cross and millstone are taken from the arms of Jonas Meldercreutz, who set up a mill to extract iron ore in the area in the 1740s.
